| The first silk paintings I ever did were on holiday in the Lake District. I'd decided this was it and I went armed with every thing that I needed to get started. During the day we went out and about and in the evening I came home and painted some of the things that had inspired me, and right from those early days I never felt happy with a silk painting untill I'd embroidered it or embellished it in some way so for me painting silk is just the start of the journey I usually go on to quilting and couching and some times over- paint with acrylics and then maybe add beads and sequins | ||||||||||||

The pictures below were all started during that holiday in the Lake District and I have them in my collection - I just can't part with them
